Thoughts about life and art
Both life and art are happy things, so the most significant part of my painting process is an attempt to make clean colours, as well as natural and interesting variations of light and shadow. These are the things that bring the joy of life into the painting.
I respect the traditions of classical painting. My most important exemplars are the old masters from the Renaissance to the beginning of the 1900s.
In art, talent is overrated. Talent alone is never enough. Everyone has to practise a lot to develop.
